Nepean AGL Loy Yang

Scope

Polaris was engaged to complete the welding of various joints between main module halves, pontoons, and bases of the main structure at the AGL Loy Yang site south-east of Traralgon in Victoria. Works comprising:

• Structural assembly of structure, outriggers, and support bracing
• Welding of front and rear pontoons
• Welding of two reaction assemblies
• Weld testing of main structure halves and pontoons
• Temporary works and scaffolding erection, including work decks for accessibility
• Painting of approved welding
• Mechanical fit out alignment of L205 head end

The new movable drive head end will integrate and improve work operations at the AGL Loy Yang brown coal mine, Australia’s largest.
