Guy Smith – Project Manager

A goal-oriented professional with over 30 years of senior management experience in fabrication, maintenance, and construction. Guy has a proven track record of helping companies maximise safety, efficiency, and innovation across diverse sectors including mining, oil and gas, utilities, and construction. Specialising in project, operations, and maintenance management, he has successfully delivered medium to heavy structural, mechanical, and piping (SMP) projects both onsite and offsite. Known for strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, Guy brings enthusiasm, integrity, and extensive leadership experience. He is highly skilled in resource allocation, scheduling, estimating, and risk management, consistently delivering projects on time and within budget.

Shannon Melvin - Managing Director

Shannon Melvin has extensive experience, delivering complex projects throughout Australia, Asia, Europe and Africa in both the oil & gas and mining industries. With a background in Construction Science, he has assisted in delivering large-scale greenfield and brownfield projects, applying both technical expertise and strategic leadership. Shannon has held senior roles including Operations / General Manager and several Directorships in multiple regions and industries and is currently serving as a Non-Executive Director for several companies.

As Managing Director of Polaris Engineering, Shannon oversees the company’s strategic direction and project execution. His leadership is driven by a commitment to safety and delivering excellence across all aspects of the business.

Eric Phillips - Operations Director

Eric Phillips is an experienced engineering professional with over 45 years in the industry, delivering complex projects and operational excellence across Australia. He has extensive leadership experience in managing engineering companies with a history spanning more than 25 years, overseeing manufacturing, operations, strategic growth, and team development.

As Operations Director of Polaris Engineering, Eric applies his deep industry knowledge and strategic leadership to drive innovation, efficiency, and excellence across all aspects of the business.

Rohan Eicke - General Manager

Rohan Eicke is a highly experienced construction and engineering professional with over 25 years in the mineral processing, mining, oil & gas, infrastructure, and commercial sectors. Starting as a Mechanical Engineer, he quickly transitioned into construction, building a career that combines deep technical knowledge with strong leadership. He has held key roles including Project Manager, Construction / Area Manager, General Manager and was employed as a Technical Expert for public and private sectors specialising in large infrastructure projects.

As General Manager at Polaris Engineering, Rohan leads the company’s operational performance and project execution, from development and fabrication to surface treatment, pre-assembly, and site construction. His leadership continues to drive the company’s growth, with a strong focus on safety, quality, innovation, and client success.
